WESTVILLE (Indiana) - Mrs. Justus L. (Marie C.) Stephens died at home Sunday after an illness of three months. .
She was born in Denham, Pulaski County, March 5, 1894 daughter of William and Adeline (Dallman) Brettin. On Oct. 18, 1914 at the family's country home in Clinton Twp., she was married to Justus Leotto Stephens, who survives..
Also surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Alice Cromey of Rte. 2 LaPorte, Mrs. Flaude Meister of LaPorte, Mrs. Ruth Kimble Rte 1 LaPorte, and Mrs. Charlotte Sly of Union Mills; and a son, Charles of Kalamazoo, Mich.; a brother Theodore of Crown Point; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Rosenbaum Rte 2 LaPorte, Mrs. Martha Magee of South Bend; 14 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren..
She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Wanatah, Salem Ladies Aid, Salem Women's Guild, Salem Bible Study Class and Royal Neighbors. .
Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Weds. at Salem United Church of Christ with the Rev. William Bertsch officiating. Burial will be in Union Mills Cemetery..
Friends may call at Weaver Funeral Home after 7 p.m. today until 10 a.m. Wednesday and then at the church.
