Singer and Actress. Known for introducing the song "Pack Up Your Troubles in Your Old Kit-Bag and Smile, Smile, Smile". She appeared on Broadway from 1904 to 1922. Shows she appeared in include "The Maid and the Mummy" (1904), "Nobody Home" (1915) and "Her Soldier Boy" (1916). She married actor Charlie Ruggles in 1914. They divorced in 1916. In 1918 she married actor Conway Tearle. They remained married until his death. During the late 1910s she recorded a couple songs for Victor Records. They included "Mammy O' Mine" and "When You See Another Sweetie Hanging Around". Following Tearle's death she played supporting roles in films. Films included "The Blonde from Singapore" (1941) and "The Secret Fury" (1950). Rowland's talent lives on through her films and phonograph recordings.
