Pat Fletcher, 47, of Thompsonville, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 2, 2007, at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale. He was born on April 10, 1960, in Gary, Ind., to Donald and Margaret (Samples) Fletcher. On Dec. 22, 1979, he married Shirley Dunning at Harco Baptist Church, and she survives in Thompsonville.

Pat was a stationary fireman engineer at the power plant at Southern Illinois University. He was a member of Ebenezer Community Church, where he was a deacon. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers No. 399.

Surviving family members include his wife, Shirley Fletcher of Thompsonville; son, Jeremy (Brandi) Fletcher of Harrisburg; daughter, Jessica Fletcher of Johnston City; two grandchildren, Macey and Mariah Fletcher of Harrisburg; parents, Donald and Margaret Fletcher; two brothers, Mike (Barb) Fletcher of Thompsonville and Brian Fletcher of Lemoore, Calif.; and a sister, Beth (Brad) Doughty of Eldorado. Several nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. The Rev. Steve Dunning will officiate and will be assisted by Jeff Rush. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 6, 2007, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg. Memorial contributions may be made to the Carmi Children's Home. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
