JoAnn Virginia Cox, 73, of Bristol, Tenn., went to be with the Lord Monday, September 29, 2014 in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was born February 14, 1941 a daughter of the late Benjamin Harrison and Geneva Leonard Yates. She has lived all of her life in the Bristol area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Eaf Cox. Mrs. Cox is survived by her daughters, Regina Ann Smith, Rita Gay Lubecke and friend, Allen Eaton, Rachel Lynn Cox, and Renee Darlene Harr; son, Dewey Benjamin Cox and wife, Brenda; special kind, devoted and very loving companion, R.C. Kelly; sisters, Eva Phillips, Sue Humphrey and husband, Earl, Norma Whitaker and husband, Kyle, Joyce Johnson and husband, Randy, and Becky Carter; brothers, Ben Yates and wife, Brenda Sue, and Rick Yates and wife, Brenda; nine grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren. A Funeral service will be held 6 pm Wednesday, October 1, 2014 in the Weaver Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Phillips officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6 pm prior to the service. The burial will be held 3 pm Thursday, October 2, 2014, at Sunrise Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Bink and Susie for their loving care & support. Also, a special thanks to Dr. Connor and the Wellmont Medical ICU Staff.
