Son of Cornelis and Maaike Toom Den Burger.

John Den Burger died at his home in Pella at 7:00 p. m. Friday Sept. 6, 1918, aged 63 years, 7 months and 12 days.

His death was due to an accident which befell him. On Tuesday of that week, of which brief mention was made in last Week's Chronicle As will be recalled, he was helping with some work on a farm northeast of town, when he fell striking the back of his head in such a manner as to break or dislocate his neck. Paralysis set in, and death followed at the time mentioned above. Deceased had been in good health and had only a few days earlier returned from a trip to South Dakota. He is survived by his wife and five daughters, three of whom are married.

Funeral services were held Monday, at the home at one o'clock and at the Second Reformed church at 1:30 p.m., conducted by the pastor, Rev. H. M. Bruins. Interment was at Oakwood cemetery.
