Nathan Mackie was transferred to Nashville, Tennessee and then forwarded to Louisville, Kentucky. Going by other prisoners taken at Salisbury and brought to Camp Chase he should have arrived about May 4, 1865.
Camp Chase Prison Records reported the death of Nathan Mackie on Tuesday June 27, 1865 due to pneumonia.
Although Nathan Mackie is listed as buried at the Camp Chase Cemetery he is one of many who was not issued a tombstone at the Camp Chase Cemetery and is without a tombstone yet today.
