She married Paul Richard Griebel on April 21, 1952, in Victoria.
She grew up in Victoria and was a 1948 graduate of Victoria High School. They resided in Rooks County until 1955. They moved to a farm outside of Collyer. She was a housewife and loving mother raising 11 children. She was a second-grade catechism teacher for St. Michael Catholic Church in Collyer for many years. She was a member of Altar Society at St. Michael Catholic Church and Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.
She enjoyed sewing, cooking and was crochet leader for the Collyer Go-Getters 4-H Club. They managed a dairy farm in Collyer for more than 33 years. They retired and moved to Hays in 1988. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in April with family and friends.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; seven sons, Francis Griebel and wife, Becky, Lexington, Ky., Steve Griebel and wife, Jennifer, Collyer, Robert Griebel and Bill Griebel, both of Collyer, Roger Griebel and wife, Robin, and Joe Griebel, all of Hays, and Wayne Griebel and wife, Darla, Amarillo, Texas; four daughters, Linda Schroeder and husband, Keith, Hutchinson, Marilyn Rebori and husband, Timothy, Olathe, Mary Adams and husband, Tim, Quinlan, Texas, and Paula Kruse and husband, Shannon, Topeka; two brothers, George Dinkel and wife, Mary Ann, and Father Harvey Dinkel O.F.M. Cap., all of Victoria; five sisters, Sister Francis Rose Dinkel C.S.A., Fon Du Lac, Wis., Irene Scruggs, Manhattan, Mary Younker and husband, Walter, Antonino, Viola Richmeier, Grinnell, and Sister Paul Ann Dinkel, C.S.A., Hays; 10 grandchildren, Randi Griebel, Craig Griebel, Vanessa Schroeder, Ann Griebel, James Adams, Megan Griebel, Greg Adams, Austin Kruse, Leyton Rebori and Justin Kruse; and a brother-in-law, Delbert Rohr, Wichita.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Hilarius, Clarence and Edward Dinkel; and four sisters, Julitta Dechant, Bertha Prewo, Regina Dechant and Rita Rohr.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Hays. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 8:30 to 9:45 a.m. Monday, both at Cline's Mortuary of Hays, 1919 E. 22nd, Hays, KS 67601. A vigil will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at the mortuary.
Memorials are suggested to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, Hays, in care of the mortuary.
