Pat, her mother and two older sisters, Angela and Rachel, came to the USA in the early 1940s. They arrived in the last ship from England to save children during World War II London blitz. She grew up at the home of John Ingram, Mansfield, MA, who sponsored them all to the U.S.
As a bookkeeper working at M.I.T., she became a U. S. citizen in 1952. She was very proud of her Scottish heritage and especially her U. S. citizenship.
In 1955, she met Odell E. Braun and they were married 9 Nov 1957 in Breckenridge, MN. Two babies, Cathy and Susan were born and sadly each died within weeks of their births.
Pat and Dell moved to California, settling in the Indian Wells Valley in 1960. She was a resident for 54 years.
Prolific in knitting and crocheting, she made hats and scarves and slippers, etc. for Santa's Art Shop many years. She loved going camping throughout the western U.S. and Pacific coast, considering the Grand Canyon the most awesome, beautiful spot on Earth. She loved staying in the rim cabins, overlooking the canyon.
Pat also enjoyed going to Las Vegas, NV and was quite often very luck on the slot machines.
She was an avid reader, devouring many hundreds of historical novels and romances.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, babies and sister-in-law, Joan Braun. She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Odell E. Braun.
