CLOVIS NEWS JOURNAL, 23 June 1966:
W.E. DECKER
PORTALES (Staff) -- W.R. Decker, 59, died Wednesday at Roosevelt General Hospital. Mr. Decker had been employed for many years with the maintenance department of the public schools of Portales.
Funeral services will be at the Calvary Baptist Church Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Allen Norris officiating, assisted by the Rev. Tom Watson.
He is survived by his widow; a daughter, Mrs. Melba Jo Burnham of St. Louis, Mo.; a son, Ural of Albuquerque; three sisters, Miss Uvalde Decker of Stamford, Tex., Mrs. Molly Jared of Haskell, Tex., and Mrs. Ida Jackson of Rotan, Tex.; one brother, Arther of Paducah, Tex., and six grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Clyde Vardeman, Any Wall, Pool Tyler, Arthur Chaddick, Cullen Wood, George Perry and Lee Selman; honorary D.E. Mitchell, Dr. H.O. Lehman, Dr. Bentley Altizer, Joe Flores and Jack Swicegood.
Burial will be in Portales Cemetery under direction of Wheeler Funeral Home.
