Mrs. Mandy Lou Horne Garner, age 105, of 246 Ridgeview Road, Jonesville, widow of Robert M. Garner, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 2, 2014.
Mrs. Garner was born in Cherokee Co., on October 7, 1908 a daughter of the late Fredrick Monroe Horne, Sr. and Alice Worthy Horne. She had been a member of Mt. Joy Baptist Church for 92 years.
Surviving are five daughters, Margie Hyatt of Jonesville, Mary Bell of Jonesville, Betty Sanders of Union, Annette Sanders of Lancaster, and Paulette Moore of Jonesville; three sons, Kedrick Garner of Jonesville, Julian Garner of Union, and Terry Garner of Jonesville; one sister, Mildred Littleton of Gaffney; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Donald Garner; a grandson, Richard Garner; a great-granddaughter, Kayla Lewis; six sisters and five brothers.
Funeral services will be held 3:00PM Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Mt. Joy Baptist Church conducted by the Rev. Alan West. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Bob Garner, Bill Garner, David Garner, Edward Sanders, Todd Sanders, Nicholas Vanderford, and Harrison Vanderford. The staff and nurses of Hospice Care of South Carolina – Union are asked to sit in a group.
Visitation will be held 1:30 until 2:45 prior to the services at Mt. Joy Baptist Church.
