SULPHUR - Arnold Dean Hartstine, 72, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 1, 2014, in a local hospital.
Arnold was a lifelong Sulphur resident, a U.S. Army veteran of Vietnam and retired from Olin Chemicals after 25 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, watching football and wrestling, and definitely loved his coffee.
Survivors include his children, Marion Dean Hartstine (Nicole), Kevin Hartstine (Karen) and Melissa Mott (Johnny), all of Sulphur; sister, Becky Monroe (Bobby) of Sulphur; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Mable Hartstine; and wife, Martha Hartstine.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 3, in Hixson-Sulphur Memorial Funeral Home. The Rev. Lonnie Gothrup will officiate. Burial will follow in a private family cemetery. Visitation will be held 5-8 p.m. Thursday and resume Friday, 11 a.m.–1 p.m. in the funeral home.
