Peter Adam Weber, 89, passed away peacefully on July 9, 2014 at his daughter's home in Mapleton, Utah. He was born on the family farm near Ritzville, Washington on May 11, 1925 to John and Lucy Weber, the fifth of 10 children, and grew up on a wheat farm near Packard. He attended school in a small schoolhouse near the farm and graduated from Ritzville High School in 1943 where he participated in several sports and was a member of the FFA and 4-H programs.

After graduation he was drafted into the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II and served in the Philippine Islands and Japan. He was honorably discharged and returned to Ritzville. He became employed by the Odessa Union Warehouse Company at its Packard location and worked there for a short time before enrolling at Kinman Business School in Spokane. While attending school he was employed by Sears, Roebuck and Company as a Credit Sales Manager Trainee. After graduation, Pete was promoted to Assistant Credit Sales Manager in the Spokane Sears store. During that time, he met Shirley Heimbigner and the couple was married on April 3, 1948 in Ritzville.

Children Keith, Renee and Valerie were born as Pete was transferred to Chehalis, WA; Caldwell, ID and then Boise. After seven years in Boise, the family moved to San Bernardino and then Covina, California, after which Pete took early retirement after 30 years. Pete then pursued a new career in real estate, becoming a broker of his own office in Yucaipa, California. There, he was an active member of the Elks Lodge and served as an Exalted Ruler.

Pete and Shirley were later divorced and Pete moved back to Washington, settling in the Quincy area. He met Wanda Larsen and the couple purchased property and built a home on several acres between Quincy and Ephrata. While developing the property and planting a Christmas tree farm and large garden, Pete worked for the Quincy post office and the Moose Lodge. He was an active member of the Quincy Moose Lodge during that time.

Four years ago, Pete suffered a stroke and was unable to work as much as he would have liked. He was always busy with several projects around the house and at his two jobs. He maintained a very demanding schedule and it was difficult for him to scale down. Due to his health issues eventually declining, it became necessary for him to require special care and he moved to Mapleton, Utah to live with daughter Valerie and her family.

A memorial service was held on July 27, 2014, at Mapleton, Utah, after cremation. An additional memorial service is planned at Ritzville for October 11, 2014 where he will be interred at the Adams-Lincoln County Line Cemetery along with other family members.

Pete is survived by son Keith Weber of George; daughters Renee Patrick of Yucaipa, Calif. and Valerie Root and husband John at Mapleton, Utah; his companion of 25 years, Wanda Larsen at Quincy; brother Mike and his wife, Nancy at Ritzville; sister in-law Marjean Weber of the Seattle area, 13 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great- grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Lucy Weber; sister Ellen; brothers Eugene, Ernie, Ervin, Tom, Bob, Jack, and Jerry; former wife Shirley, and his beloved son-in-law Edward Patrick.
