Walter Calkins, 73, of Monty St. died Sunday after a abort illness at the Champlain Valley Hospital.
He was a retired railroad engineer with the Delaware and Hudson Railroad.
He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Thelma Everleth of Beekmantown and Mrs. Shirley Light of Dannemora; a son, Robert, of Plattsburgh and 10 grandchildren.
The body is at the R.J. Blixt Funeral Home. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services are scheduled at the Trinity Episcopal Church Wednesday at 3 p.m. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
