David Avila Garcia, age 38 of Coachella and Las Vegas, passed away in Las Cruces, New Mexico on April 9, 2012. Born in Indio, Calif. on Feb. 26, 1974 to Apolinar Z. Garcia and Lorraine A. Garcia. He grew up in Coachella and graduated from C.V. High School in 1992, where he was active in sports. He followed his older brothers' example by joining the U.S. Air Force from 1992-1994. He had been an X-ray Technician at J.F.K. Memorial Hospital for 4 years. He also helped the family business of Date Tree Growing for ten years. He attended College of the Desert and obtained his A.A. in Business Administration graduating in June 2011. In the summer of 2011 he enrolled at U.N.L.V. to obtain a B.A. in Business Administration. He would have fulfilled his dream next month. Just his smile portrayed the joy he had for loved ones and friends. He is survived by his father Apolinar Z. Garcia of Coachella, his only son David "Little Dave" Garcia of Las Vegas, NV. His brothers Martin Garcia and Paul Garcia of Coachella. visitation will be held at Our Lady Of Soledad Catholic Church on Friday at the hour of 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. with a Rosary to be said at 10:00 a.m. and a mass to be held at the hour of 11:00 a.m. with burial to follow at the Coachella Valley Cemetery.
