Teresa Lavern Edmonds was born on March 2, 1955, in McDonald Army Hospital, Fort Eustis Virginia, to Joseph W. Edmonds and the late Essie M. Edmonds. Teresa transitioned peacefully from earth to her heavenly home on, Monday, September 22, 2014, in Midwest City Regional Hospital, Midwest City, Oklahoma.

Teresa accepted Christ at an early age and joined St. John Baptist Church in Williamsburg, VA. She was a faithful member of Equipped Ministries, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Teresa graduated from York High School in Yorktown, Virginia. After graduation, Teresa attended Virginia Intermont College, Bristol, Virginia, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Merchandising. She received a Theology Degree in Sacred Studies from The Father's House Church School of Theology in Oklahoma, with a 4.0 grade point average.

After graduating from college, Teresa began her work career in retail. Teresa was employed at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. On September 4, 2014, Teresa celebrated 35 years of service with the Federal Government. Her assignments included, Fort AP Hill, Virginia, Fort Meade, Maryland, Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, Alconbury, England and two assignments at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma. Teresa also worked part-time at a local funeral home in Oklahoma.

Teresa, servant of the LORD Jesus Christ, enjoyed serving others, music, cooking, especially, her famous cheese cake, which so many friends enjoyed, ministering and sharing the love of Jesus in word and in action. She had a unique laugh, a sense of humor, and was very supportive of people and ministries (touching many lives). In the Bible, Proverbs 18:16 say, "a man's ministry makes room for him." Teresa's heart and desire, was to love and serve others as God loved her.

Teresa was a fighter. She did not allow the diagnosis or prognosis to slow her down or interfere with her work commitment, activities, or her faith in God's promises. She was committed to God and this commitment was evident in her life. We will miss her, but we will see her again.

Teresa leaves to cherish her memories, her father, Joseph W. Edmonds, Williamsburg, Virginia; her brothers, Joseph A. Edmonds (Trudy), Surry, Virginia and Jasper L. Edmonds, Williamsburg, Virginia; her Goddaughter, Samantha Kelly, Midwest City, Oklahoma; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2014, in St. John Baptist Church, 1397 Penniman Road, with the Rev. Walter Hudson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Family and friends will assemble at 103 Douglas Drive by 12:00 noon on Wednesday. Ms. Edmonds may be viewed from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home.
