Dora was the only daughter of William and Hannah Weiker Drescher. She married Leonard Leslie Mowan, the son of John and Elmira Bortel Mowan, on 16 November 1892 in Wood County, and they had twin daughters, Ethel May(Sweet) on 4 April 1897 and a daughter, Ruth May(Cole), also born on 4 April 1897 in Grand Rapids. Dora died six days later. Ruth went to live with Dora's parents, William and Hannah. She later married Forest Cole on 17 September 1915 in Lucas County but divorced him in 1938. Ethel married James Ralph Sweet on 12 August 1919 in Wood County.
