In 1841, Martha married James Holbert. Their marriage produced two children, Hezekial Holbert and Lymon B Holbert. Hezekiah was born while they were living in New York. Martha and James would be married for 59 years.
As a young adult, Martha lived in Danville, Mantour County, Pennsylvania. Census records show her living in Pennsylvania in both the 1860 and 1880 census. In 1895, the Minnesota Census shows her living in St. Paul, MN. The 1900 Census shows her living at 659 Summit Avenue with her son,Hezekiah, his wife, Fannie, their five children, a maid and a coachman.
The 1904 city directory still shows Martha living at 659 Summit Avenue with her son, Hezikial.
On February 17, 1907, Martha would die from pneumonia at the age of 86 years. Martha died in Osceola, Wisconsin. It is unknown if she had moved to Oseola or was just their visiting. However, a newspaper article about another family member mentions the family having a summer home in Osceola.
Martha was interred in Oakland Cemetery on May 10, 1907 in a plot in the back of the cemetery with two of Hezekial's children, Mary and Winifred and two infant sons of her grandson, Robert Conkling Holbert.
