Rose C. Rome, 81, homemaker, died Friday, May 27 at St. John's Rest Home, Victoria. She was born Nov. 25, 1906, in Victoria to Anton A. and Catherine (Linenberger) Dreiling.

She married Peter A. Rome on Dec. 30, 1935 at Victoria.

She was a retired teacher and homemaker. She taught in the Victoria area for several years, and she was a cook at the Victoria Grade School. She has been a resident at St. John's Rest Home for three and one-half years. She was a member of the St. Fidelis Catholic Church, the Daughters of Isabella, the Third Order of St. Francis and the Christian Mothers, all of Victoria.

Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Howard of Hays; a daughter, Mary Gemma Keberlein of Hays; two brothers, Clement Dreiling of Livonia, Mich., Louis Dreiling of Denver; two sisters, Agnes Penka of Larned, Flora Ridpath of Victoria; four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Mary Gemma, three brothers and five sisters.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Fidelis Catholic Church, Victoria, Father Gene Emrisek officiated, burial in the church cemetery.
