Cumberland Sunday Times, Cumberland, Maryland, July 3, 1960: "Frostburg--Mrs. Mary Marcella Rafferty, 78, died yesterday at the home of her brother, James W. Scally, 36 Mill Street, with whom she resided. Born July 23, 1882, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Bridget (Chambers) Scally. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and the Sodality of the Blessed Virgin. Besides her brother, she is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John McDonald, Frostburg; three step-daughters, Mrs. Elizabeth Fraley, Long Island, N.Y.; Mrs. Laverne Lavin, Cumberland, and Mrs. Leona Carter, Mt. Savage; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. A requiem mass will he celebrated in St. Michael's Catholic Church Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. with Father Regis Larkin celebrant. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. The body is at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John McDonald, 28 Hill Street, where the rosary will be recited tomorrow at 8 p.m."
