She received her formal education in the public schools of Clarendon County. At an early age, she joined Pine Grove AME Church where she served faithfully for many years.
“Boot”, as she was affectionately called by her family and friends, was quiet and soft spoken with a sweet and loving spirit.
Loved ones that will cherish her memories included her three sisters, Magnolia Henry and Gertrude Conyers of Greeleyville, SC and Willa Mae Spry of Sumter, SC; her brother , Willie Simon of Manning, SC; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
