OBITUARY-
Geneva M. Erbe, 71, of New Albin, IA, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Gundersen Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, WI.

She was born August 4, 1929 in Dickey, ND to Leo G. and Marie G. (Houek) Adams. On June 2, 1956 she married John Dale Erbe at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Willow Springs, MO.
Geneva worked many years on the family farm with Dale and also was a housekeeper. She enjoyed making rugs and quilts, woodworking, and fishing in her leisure time. Geneva was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in New Albin where she served as a member of the choir, and the Altar and Rosary Society.

Survivors include her husband of New Albin; one daughter, Marie (Robert) Morterud of Bayfield, CO; three sons: John (Jolene) Erbe of Chester, IA, Jim (Diane) Erbe of New Albin, and Joe (Ginny) Erbe of Chester, IA; five grandchildren; three brothers: Willard, Lester (Dorothy) and Harold (Eunice) Adams, all of Willow Springs; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Adams of Streator, IL; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Elmer Adams.

Mass of Christian Burial was Friday, March 2, at 11 am from St. Joseph's Catholic Church, New Albin, with Father Daniel Knipper as celebrant of the Mass. Burial was in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, New Albin. Friends called at the New Albin Townhouse and Chapel on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m., with a Catholic Prayer Service held at 7 pm. The Haugen-Roble-Jandt Funeral Home, Caledonia was in charge of arrangements.
