Mrs. Martha Franklin Adkinson, 78 years of age died at the home of her son, W. J. Evans, Thursday morning at 11:30 in Promised Land. Mrs. Atkinson had been in ill health for more than eight years.
Mrs. Atkinson was a devout Christian, having been a member of the Baptist Church since she was 10 years old. She was a native of Tennessee, but had lived in Cooter, Missouri before she came to live with her son at Promised Land.
The funeral services were held this morning at 10 o'clock with Rev. Bond of Cooter officiating. Interment at the Sawyer Cemetery with the Blytheville Undertaking Co. in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Atkinson is survived by two sons, L. G. Evans of Blytheville and W. G. Evans of Promised Land.
