(3rd) Company I "Stafford Guards" of Stafford County, 47th Virginia Infantry, Field's Brigade, A.P. Hill's Division, 2nd Corps, Army of Northern Virginia, C.S.A.

Residence Stafford County VA; an 18 year-old Laborer.
Enlisted on 4/21/1861 at Stafford Court house, he was mustered into (2nd) I" Co. VA 47th Infantry as a Private.
On all Rolls thru May & June 1862 Roll.
Died of typhoid fever (no record of hospitalization).

The 47th Infantry Regiment was formed in June, 1861, with men recruited in Caroline, Middlesex, Essex, and Stafford counties. During February, 1865, the 47th and 55th Regiments were consolidated.
