A 3:00 p.m. funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Ray Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Cemetery with full military honors by the Rockingham County Honor Guard.
Robert was born February 2, 1934 to Albert and Beulah Grogan Vaden. He was a U.S. Army veteran and retired from UNIFI. Early in his career he worked for his uncle at Grogan’s Grocery in Madison. He was a lifelong member of Mayodan Church of God and attended faithfully as long as his health permitted.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Vaden was preceded in death by his son, Vincent Todd Vaden; 2 sisters, Era Amos, Clara Davis; 6 brothers, Horace, J.C., Raymond, Franklin, Paul, Odell.
Mr. Vaden is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, 2 sons, 2 sisters of Mayodan; 6 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
