Mr. Culliton was born in Ireland and came to Canada with his parents in 1869. He took up residence in Rochester in 1880; since that time he had been engaged in the real estate and insurance business. In 1915 Mr. Culliton ran for New York State Senator on the Democratic ticket, but never held either elective or appointive office. He died at his residence (302 Epworth Street, Rochester, NY) on Saturday, November 16, 1935.
He is survived by his widow, Mary Culliton; sons William J. of the Rochester Telephone Corporation; Harry J. and John E. of the Rochester Gas & Electric Corporation; five daughters: Mrs. Otto Kitzing, Chicago, IL; Miss Edmund C. Hudson, Buffalo, NY; Mrs. William P. Gilbert, Mrs. Raymond C. Vandoorn, and Miss Irene Culliton, all three living in Rochester, NY. He had a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Cozens of Toronto, Ontario. He had eleven grandchildren.
