Mrs. Robinson was born to Lillian Baker Moore and Jesse Sims. She attended school in Webster Parish. At an early age, she confessed to Christ and joined Mt. Calm Missionary Baptist Church where she attended until she became too ill to attend services. She was a member of the Holiday Loyalty Chorus. In 1951, she married J.B. Robinson, and the couple had two daughters, Vivian and Cynthia. She was employed at Minden Medical Center until her retirement and worked at McInnis Insurance Agency as a custodian until she became ill.
She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; step-father, Dave Moore; and grandparents, Steve and Vinnie Baker.
She is survived by her daughters, Vivian Ann Johnson and Cynthia Hawkins and husband Ronald, both of Dallas; godson, the Rev. Victor Carter and wife Shryl of Minden; granddaughters, Tarshanna "Nika" Johnson of Dallas, Senthia "Punkin" Johnson of Minden; great-granddaughter, Kiaya "Mook" Johnson of Dallas; half-brothers, Jesse "Bobby" Sims and wife Exie of Vacaville, Calif., and Ralph "Jackie" Sims of Oakland, Calif.; step-mother, Martell Sims of Homer; aunts, Ruby Mims of Minden, Leslie Baker of Dayton, Ohio, the Rev. Pearlie Brown of Los Angeles and Alperry Sims of Minden; uncle Prentiss Baker Sr. and wife Ollie of Minden; brothers and sisters-in-laws, Prince Robinson Jr., Reather Robinson, John Henry Robinson, Essie M. Bradley, Mary Driver, Sable Ann Robinson, Margaret Williams and Bernice Harrison, all of Texas; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
