E.W. first married Emma Forquer in 1886, and had two children by her and she passed away in 1896. He remarried Mary E. Harget in 1897and had four children by her.
Around 1900 the family moved to the Broken Bow area of Nebraska, in Custer Co. renting farms in the Loup River area near Oconto, where they lived at the Cavanu Ranch. In the spring of 1910 they moved to Cheyene Co. in Co., for his wifes health and homesteaded 14 miles north of Wildhorse. In 1926 he moved to Gilcrest, Co. where he ran a service station till his death.
