Gloria Paula Howell, age 75, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 in Sumterville, Florida. She was born in Newark, New Jersey and moved to The Villages area in June of 2013 from Newtown, Pennsylvania. Before her retirement she spent over 20 years serving as a trusted Nanny to the children of many friends and family. Those closest to her describe her as a very social “bubbly” person who made friends easily with her outgoing personality and she always willing to give of herself. She loved flowers and found joy in caring for her flower beds. She was also known for her deep love of children, and her happiest times were spent with her family. Her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her life.
She leaves behind to carry on her memory her loving husband of 55 years Melvin; Sons – Stephen H. (Lee Ann) Howell; and Michael J. (Kathy) Howell both of Levittown, Pennsylvania; a Daughter – Michele A. Howell of Michigan; 6 grandchildren – Michael, Jr., Nicole, Brittany, Lee, Dylan, and Austin; 2 great-grandchildren – Michael, III, and Jacob.
A memorial service celebrating Gloria’s life is being planned and the date will be announced in the near future.
