Raymond Reese Carson, loving husband, father and grandfather, died September 16, 2014 in Ocala, Florida. He was born in Lafayette, Indiana on April 17, 1927.
Preceding him in death, his loving wife of almost 62 years, Mary Ann Carson. Reese and Mary met in California where he was employed as an engineer and they married on June 29, 1952. They settled in California, and then began making their way across the country with stops in Colorado, New York, Florida, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. After retiring from Gilbert Associates in 1993, they moved to Daytona Beach before finally settling in Ocala. Together they raised four children.
Preceding him in death, his oldest son Richard of Daytona Beach, FL. He is survived by two sons, Mark (LeAnn) from Stuart, FL; John (Linda) from Little Rock, AR, and a daughter, Kathryn Carson Harvey (Brian) of California, MD. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Devyn Gensch and Drew Carson of Chicago, IL; Shaun Carson (Nicky) of Mt. Dora, FL and Ashley Carson of Stuart, FL; Zac Carson of South Bend, IN, Amber Carson Elliot (Paxton) of Oceanside, CA, and Kayla Carson of Little Rock, AR; and Katie Enterline, Sarah and Annabelle Harvey of California, MD. Reese and Mary traveled extensively once they retired, seeing many parts of the United States, including a cruise to Alaska and a trip to the Grand Canyon. They also traveled abroad, visiting Italy and Greece.
A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 8, 2014 at Joy Evangelical Lutheran Church, 7045 SW 83rd Place, Ocala, FL at 10:00 am. Interment will follow at Pine Forest Cemetery, 1699 N. Donnelly St., Mt Dora, FL at 2:00 pm. The family requests donations to Joy Evangelical Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers. Cremation handled by Florida Cremation, Ocala.
