Charles Edwin Bookout, 76, Tipton, died April 22, 1999, at St. Mary's Health Center.
He was born Jan. 20, 1923, in Tipton, a son of Roy F. and Florence M. Lawson Bookout. His mother survives in Tipton. He was married Sept. 29, 194 3, in Tipton, to Marilee Eichelberger, who survives at the home.
He was a member of Tipton American Legion 304 and was a veteran of World War II. He worked as a meat cutter at Yontz Packing Plant, Tipton.
Other survivors include: one daughter, Cheryl R. Walters, Boonville; two brothers, Bill Bookout and Donald Bookout, both of Tipton; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Meisenheimer-Griswold Funeral Home, Tipton. The Rev. J.D. Cooper will officiate. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. today.
