The 1900 census reported she had had 5 children and only 2 were still living.

Her obituary as recorded in the 21 Nov 1912 issue of the McLeansboro Times reads:

"Lucy A. Campbell was born January 16, 1837, in Hamilton county, and died in McLeansboro, Nov. 17, 1912, at the age of 76 years, 10 months and 1 day. She was the fifth of a family of fifteen children.

She was married to Joseph S. Williams Oct. 16, 1859 and to this union was born five children, of whom only one is living, John, who was with her at the time of her death. her husband preceded her in death, having died in Feb. 1908.

She was converted at the age of 15 and joined the M. E. church at Concord, where she retained her membership every since. She always lived near Concord, until about 8 years ago she moved to McLeansboro, where she lived till her death. She was active in church work and always enjoyed attending church. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of sickness.

During the latter part of her life her health would not permit of her going to church but she never forgot to read her Bible.

She has been affected with heart trouble for some time and last Saturday night she became worse and passed away at 12 o'clock Sunday noon.

Death to the believer is not like the evening star sinking into the darkness, but like the morning star lost in the brightness of the day.

She leaves one son, two grand children, two sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn their loss.

Funeral services were held from the Concord church Nov. 19, conducted by the pastor, Rev. C. B. Latimer, and the body was interred in the cemetery at that place."
