ALTON - Nancy Lee Finch, 74, passed away at 3:25 p.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014, under the care of Heartland Hospice at the MO Vet Home in St. Louis

She was born January 8, 1940, in Alton, Ill., the daughter of the late Woodrow and Mary (Contrell) Twitty.

She married Lester "Gene" Finch on July 28, 1961, in Alton at the 12th Street Presbyterian Church, and he survives.

Nancy served her country in the U.S. Navy from1959 to 1961. She was employed at Christian Hospital N E as a dispatcher. She was a member of the Baptist Church @ the MO Vet Home and was the president of the MO Vet Home Community. She enjoyed life and spending time with her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, Gene; she is survived by a son David Finch of Lakewood, Wash.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Emma and Bob Logan of Alton and Margaret Sonlis of Florida; two nieces, Melinda and Marsha; and a nephew, Mike.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Rosie Rickman.

Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton.

Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Sept.30, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with Pastor Charles West officiating. Burial will take place at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo.
