Howard Thomas Young, 78, passed away Saturday, September 1, 1990 at his home.
Born January 26, 1912 in Shelly, Idaho, son of William H. and Lucy Jane Thomas Young. Married Guardella Vilate Oler July 17, 1931 in Sterling, Alberta, Canada; marriage later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. He retired from Hill AFB. Reared in Shelly, Idaho, lived in the Layton/Kaysville area for the past 40 years. He graduated from Shelly High School and LDS Seminary. Attended Ricks College and studied math and history at BYU. He was a member of the Layton 38th LDS Ward. He enjoyed playing the violin and fishing.
Survived by wife, Layton; two sons and daughter, Robert H. and wife, Carol Young, LaVerkin; John D. and wife Velma Young, Kaysville; Shirley J. Perkins, Layton; 11 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; brother and two sisters, Preston D. Young, Las Vegas, Nev.; Helen Anderson, Pocatello, Idaho; Sarah Emma Jean and husband Joe Howell, Ashton, Idaho. Preceded in death by daughter, Marylou; his parents, and sister, Mary Ellen (Lellie).
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 11 a.m., Lindquiest's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main, where friends may call Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday, 9:45-10:45 a.m. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
