Benjamin H. Douglass was a son of Joseph Douglass (1803-1871) and his wife Sarah Curry (1806-1875). Per the family Bible of Samuel Van Pelt (married to Isabells Douglass, a daughter of Joseph & Sarah), the three Douglass sons, J. G., B. H. and C. J., all died in 1855.
