ADAMS Earl E. "Major," 82, entered into new life Sept. 25, 2014, at Maple Winds Care Center. Born May 17, 1932, in Portage, the son of Stanley A. and Mary Margaret (McGough) Adams. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Kenneth "Hector;" grandsons, Robert "Robbie" Custer and Jacob "Jake" Adams; brothers, William, Robert, Paul "Pud," James, Stanley and Thomas; and sisters, Myrtle and Rosmarie Hurd. Survived by his wife of 58 years, the former Vera Louise Kemler, and children, Shirley, wife of Robert Custer, Summerhill; David, and friend, Nancy Farren, Portage; and Karen, wife of Vernon Walker, Johnstown. Also surviving are nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Brother of Jean Bolvin of Portage and Gertrude Ross of Summerhill . Major was a member of Mount Olive Church, retired from Bethlehem Steel and was a volunteer bartender at Red's Bar. Friends received from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage, and from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Mount Olive United Methodist Church, the Rev. Thomas Moore officiating. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
