George Ray Thorpe passed away Sept. 24, 2014.
George was born April 4, 1920. He was a World War II veteran and an active member of the 40/8 Veterans Club and V.F.W. post 3755 of Ogallala. He was also a member of the American Legion post 303 in Paxton.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Berdeen, and his daughter, Earlene.
Survivors include his children, Robert, Charlene, George Jr., Marlene and Allene; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 29, at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell.
