Prince, Roy Franklin Flushing Age 85, died September 20, 2014. Rossell Funeral Home, Flushing Michigan, will conduct all: visitation on Thursday, October 2, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm; visitation Friday, October 3, 10:30 am followed by Memorial Service there at 11:30 am with Pastor Paul Ytterock. Burial with U.S. Air Force military honors at Great Lakes National Cemetery will be on Friday, October 3 at 2:00 pm. Roy was born November 28, 1928 in Plainview, Texas and raised in Flint, Michigan. His parents were Reubin Franklin Prince and Mary (Hinds) Prince. He graduated from Central High School and served his country in the Army Air Corp from 1946 to 1949. In 1958 he married Elfriede Fassbender. Roy earned a Master's degree in Education from Michigan State University. He dedicated 23 years to teaching children and as a principal in Flushing before retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Optimist Club, the Retired Men's Fellowship of Greater Flint, and the First Presbyterian Church of Flint. Roy enjoyed family and friends, reading, frequent travel, painting, photography, jokes, and the study of history. Roy is survived by his two daughters: Katherine Mather and husband Russ of Clio, MI, Cynthia Glencross and husband Mark of The Woodlands, TX; two grandchildren, Sarah Mather of Grosse Pointe Farms, MI, and Scott Glencross of Austin, TX; extended family and many close friends. He is preceded in death by his wife Elfriede, brothers Jack and Ray.
