WREN – Karen Lynn Holman Pope, 45, died Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at her home after a long illness. She was born May 18, 1962, in Houston, Texas, to Dr. Melvin Richard Holman and the late Dorothy Cash Holman. She was a resident of Monroe County for 30 years. She was a graduate of Amory Schools and the University of Mississippi. She was a social worker and a member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Tupelo.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with the Rev. Michael Leopard officiating. Cremation will follow.
Survivors include her husband, Bill Pope Jr. of Wren, whom she married in 2003; her father, Dr. Melvin Richard Holman (Judy) of Amory; one son, Timothy David Holman of Berea, Ky.; two stepsons, Bobby Mitchell of Mooreville and Benjamin Pope of Tupelo; two daughters, Jillian Kennedy and Amelia Pope, both of Aberdeen; one stepdaughter, Tiffany Pope of Amory; one brother, Jay Holman of Amory; two sisters, Mary Katherine “Kat” Mastrangelo of Bend, Ore., and Susan Prochazka of Houston, Texas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Dorothy “Dottie” Holman; one sister, Julie Holman Berry; and her grandparents, Musa and Melvin Holman, and Mignyon and Dozia Cash.
Pallbearers will be Chris Reeves, Tom Berry, Timothy Holman and Kent Prochazka.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Friday at the funeral home.
