Victoria Elizabeth “Nana” Chandler, 95, passed away peacefully at Miles Memorial Hospital on March 16, 2014. She was born on December 25, 1918 in Boothbay, Maine to Sumner and Helen McFarland.

Vicky attended and graduated from the South Bristol public schools. While there, she played on the school basketball team.

After graduation, she worked at the alewives stream in Damariscotta Mills as a processor. She then worked as an inspector with GTE Sylvania from 1952-1980, when she retired.

In her spare time, Vicky loved gardening and baking at home. She was a member of the Nobleboro Baptist Church for 56 years and enjoyed helping with the Church Dinners. One of her favorite things to do was spend time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren.

Vicky was predeceased by her parents, a daughter, Sandra Kennedy in 1999, two sisters: Verona Keene and Gerry Mahan, three brothers: James, Roland and Marshall McFarland, and three son-in-laws: David Seiders, Arthur Wylie and Harold Kennedy.

She is survived by two daughters: Maxine L. Wylie and Sylvia Seiders of Nobleboro, Maine

Eight grandchildren: Lori-Ann Sylvester and her husband Kip, Rebecca Wylie and her companion Randy, Stanley Brewer and his companion Jeannie, Penny Keller, Kimmie Kennedy of Nobleboro, Walter Brewer, Jr. and wife Mary of Waldoboro, Georgiann Clark and husband Randy of Damariscotta, and Helen Archer and husband John of New Hampshire.

Eleven great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren

Two brothers: Sumner McFarland and wife Charlene of Limerick, Maine and Arthur McFarland of New Harbor, Maine.

Three sisters: Rita Sewall and husband Bob of Damariscotta, Beryl Thompson of Rockland and Evelyn Ball and husband Joe of Round Pond, Maine.

Numerous nieces and nephews

A Memorial Service for Victoria will be held on May 10, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Nobleboro First Baptist Church, 8 Back Meadow Road, Nobleboro, Maine.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Nobleboro Baptist Church Steeple Fund, 8 Back Meadow Road, Nobleboro, Maine 04555.
