Anita L. Ryan, 93, of Avon, wife of the late George Ryan, died Friday, September 26, 2014. Born in Quebec, Canada, daughter of the late Joseph and Claire (Dion) Lemay, she lived in Avon 65 years and had been an active parishioner of the Church of Saint Ann. She leaves her son J. Claude Ryan and his wife Kathy of Gaithersburg, MD; her devoted daughter Ann Ryan and her husband Peter Delap of Avon; daughter Lisa Rathbun and her husband William of Branford; grandchildren Patrick Ritter and his wife Jessica, Katie Ritter and her partner Kelly Kinahan, George, Mary, Kelly, and Joseph Ryan, Natalie and Charlene Deschenes, Sheri Wilson and her husband Ryan, and Ryan and Westley Rathbun; a great grandson Jared Wilson; two sisters Alice Connors and Laurette Yankowski; and many nieces and nephews. She also was predeceased by four brothers Al, Armand, Joseph, and Emil as well as three sisters Irene, Berthe, and Bibian. A thank you to the staff at Apple Rehab of Avon for the wonderful care. Her family will receive friends Monday Sept. 29, 2014 from 5-8 PM at the Carmon Funeral Home & Family Center, 301 Country Club Road, Avon. Family and friends may gather Tuesday, Sept 30, 2014; 9 AM at Carmon's followed by a Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM at the Church of Saint Ann, 289 Arch Road, Avon. Burial will follow in St. Ann Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Avon Volunteer Fire Dept., 25 Darling Drive, Avon, CT 06001.
