Harvey Ervin Meier, 83, of Prescott, died March 10, 2005, at the Kinnic Long Term Care nursing home.

The son of Alfred and Caroline (Kuss) Meier, he was born Oct. 2, 1921, in the town of Oak Grove. He graduated in 1940 from Prescott High School.

On Oct. 2, 1942, he married Geraldine Hovde.

Mr. Meier farmed in the town of Oak Grove and started his own construction business. He later worked for Super American as a field engineer for 21 years, supervising S.A.'s building projects in five states.

He also established the smallest airport in Wisconsin, having been an avid airplane pilot. His family said he enjoyed old car restoration and Polka dancing.

Mr. Meier was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ in Prescott, the International Harvester Collectors Club and the Early Ford V8 Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Caroline Meier; daughter, Pam; grandson, Nicolas; and brother, Stanley Meier.

Mr. Meier is survived by his wife, Geraldine of Prescott; sons: Michael (Jane) Meier of Red Wing, Minn., Dennis (Mary) Meier of Ellsworth, and Scott Meier of Prescott; grandchildren: Karin, Erik, Kaia, Christine, Neal and MacKenzie; six great-grandchildren; sister, Elaine (Lorin) Huber of Prescott; and brother, Eugene (Dorothy) Meier of Prescott.

A funeral service was held March 15 at St. John's UCC with the Rev. Matt Schneider-Adams officiating.

Interment will be at a later date in the Martell United Methodist Cemetery in Martell with Erik Meier, Neal Meier, Tom Huber, Jim Meier, Ryan Meier and Bob Schmidt serving as pallbearers.
