Mrs. Boyd was born November 5, 1917 in Chicago, the daughter of John and Catherine Holstein. She married Alex Boyd on September 29, 1945 in Chicago. He passed away on September 11, 2009. They moved to Danforth in 1956. Catherine was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting and reading.
Surviving are one daughter - Karen (Richard) Weakley of Clifton, IL., one son - John Boyd of Tolono, IL., two grandchildren - Jennifer Scott and Kristen Mathis and one great-granddaughter - Kaylen Fridline.
In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by one son - Philip Boyd, one daughter-in-law - Lynda Boyd and a sister - Francis Simon.
