He was born August 24, 1928 in Salt Lake City, the fourth child and second son of Dudley D. Tebbs and Odelia Barney.
Calvin's mom passed away when he was only twelve years old, leaving him to grow into adulthood without a mother.
In 1948, he married Shirley Virginia Fortier and they had three children together before divorcing. In 1968, Calvin married Beth Monson Johnson and they remained together until Beth's passing in 1996.
At a young age, Calvin exhibited a strong aptitude for mechanical and electrical subjects, which led him to a successful thirty-five-year career at Hill Air Force Base as an aviation mechanic and electronics technician.
His skills at troubleshooting problems in sophisticated aircraft gave him the opportunity to travel all over the world.
After retiring in 1983, he and Beth enjoyed spending time with their many friends in Utah and the Southwest. They especially enjoyed their visits to Hawaii.
Calvin is survived by two children, Calvin Douglas (Carolyn) Tebbs and Joan Dee (Greg) Merrill; six grandchildren; and thirteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Chris Lee Tebbs, and a granddaughter, Jennifer Tebbs, as well as parents, a brother, and two sisters.
