Harry C. Hatch, Jr., Galesburg Chapel 76, of 421 Pine St., Galesburg, IL died at 2:45 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2003 in Heartland Health Care Center.
He was born January 1, 1927 in Galesburg, IL to Harry Clifford and Wreatha Craig Hatch Sr. He married Gracie I. Patrick on July 5, 1953 in Gassaway, WV. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons; Dean Hatch of Seneca Falls, NY, James (and Penny) Hatch of Burlington, NC and Randal (and Lori) Hatch of Galesburg, IL, a daughter, Lisa Hatch of Galesburg, IL, a brother Dale (and Janice) Hatch of Knoxville, IL, two sisters; Eileen (and Robert) Nichols of Memphis, TN and Shirley (and John) Adams of Galesburg, IL, seven grandchildren and a great granddaughter. He is preceded in death by two half sisters and one great grandson.
He worked as a Letter Carrier for 15 years retiring in May of 1981. He graduated from Galesburg High School in 1944. He attended Colonial Baptist Church. He served in the US Navy for 6 years stationed in Norfolk VA as a Radioman. He served in the Korean Conflict.
Memorial services will be 11:00 AM Friday, October 10, 2003 at the Colonial Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Stroup officiating. There will be no visitation. Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorials can be made to the Colonial Baptist Church.
