Billie Van Reed, 86, of Prosperity, WV formerly of Charmco, was the son of the late Garland T and Ada Vincent Reed. He retired from Westmoreland Coal after 38 years in the mines. Following retirement, he went to work in the lumber industry. He was a 60 year member of the UMWA.He was a member of the Rainelle First Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon. He was a loving family man who enjoyed camping, beaching, hiking, 4-wheeling and gardening. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his first wife Geraldine Morris Reed and his son Billie Van Reed, Jr. Surviving are his wife Sandra Williams Reed; a son Gary Reed; his daughter, Donna Lee Reed; and a brother Gale Reed.
