Born Jan. 16, 1917, in Colfax to Julian and Katherine Beirman Steinlicht, he married Fannie Gamble Willsie on Sept. 3, 1960, in Peoria. She died April 9, 1988, in Peoria.
Two brothers, two sisters and two stepgrandsons also preceded him in death.
Surviving are two stepdaughters, Kathy Herpin of Peoria and Carol Willsie of Bloomington; two stepsons, Melvin Willsie of Georgia and Howard Duvall of Wyoming, Mich.; 19 stepgrandchildren; and 20 stepgreat-grandchildren.
He farmed in the Colfax area for many years. He later worked for C.G. Engstrom Leather Co. for 20 years, retiring in 1982. He was of the Lutheran faith.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Davison-Fulton Woodland Chapel. The Rev. Jack Thompson will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before services at the chapel. Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
