Kimberly S. "Kimmy" Hawes McDaniel, of Albany, Oregon was born on February 20, 1979 in Hermiston, Oregon. She died on September 24, 2014 in Portland, Oregon at the age of 35 years. Kimmy was raised and attended schools in Hermiston where she participated in soccer, dance team, and softball. She graduated in the class of 1997 and then joined Americorps. Kimmy spent 2 years working with Americorps before serving an 18 month mission through Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She then attended and graduated from the Utah College of Massage Therapy and then moved to Boise, Idaho. Kimmy was united in marriage to Scott McDaniel on July 20, 2002 in Lake Oswego, Oregon at the Portland Temple of the LDS Church. They lived in Hermiston, Oregon from 2002 until 2012 when they moved to Albany, Oregon where they have lived since. Kimmy enjoyed photography, dancing, music, cooking, playing games, and movies. She cherished her time with her family and had a great sense of humor. Kimmy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband Scott McDaniel, daughters: Marrissah Lynn "Rissah" & Maisey Mae "Moomer", all of Albany, OR; her parents: Rickey & Becky Hawes, Hermiston, OR; grandmothers: Ruth Hawes, Hermiston, OR, and Nellie Jean Mills, Nampa, ID; sister: Jodi Ann Blake & husband Jason, Hermiston, OR; brother: Cody LaRue Hawes & wife Kristin, Layton, UT; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Kimmy was preceded in death by her grandfather’s: LaRue Hawes, Clyde Cox, and Don Mills.
Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 10:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 850 SW 11th St., Hermiston, Oregon.
Burial will follow at the Hermiston Cemetery, Hermiston, Oregon.
