Our beautiful son, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, Russell Allen Kennedy, returned home to his Heavenly Father on September 22, 2014 in Salt Lake City.

Russell was born August 25, 1975 in Murray to Sherida Allen and Max Rydalch Kennedy.

While Russell was born in Murray and lived for a short time in Tooele as a toddler, Russell's heart and soul belonged to Delta. Russell was raised in Delta by his mother, Sherida, grandmother, Louise Randall Allen, his two big sisters, Kelly Davis and Marla Kennedy, and his best friend and younger brother, Jerrold Max Kennedy.

Russell left Delta to attend Southern Utah University (SUU), where he graduated with a degree in political science. During his time at SUU, Russell was very active in student government and a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity. Russell received countless awards throughout high school and college for his academic and civic achievements, including being an Eagle Scout.

Russell was a proud Democrat and worked on nearly every democratic campaign in Utah. He had a passion for his country, the politics that governed it, and staunchly defended his rights and the rights of others.

Russell was a true patriot. One of Russell's greatest achievements was serving as an intern in the West Wing of the White House during Bill Clinton's first term as president.

Russell is preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents and brother-in-law, Clint Scott Davis. We all take great joy in knowing when he returned home, it was into the loving arms of his Grandma "Weezie," with whom he shared a special relationship.

Russell was a beautiful, caring man. People of all ages and walks of life were drawn to Russell's kind heart, wicked sense of humor, and belief in humanity. If you knew Russell, it was impossible not to fall in love with him.

He left us too soon and we will miss him every minute of every day until we see him again. We are grateful for the time we had with him and will hold him in our hearts forever. Our sweet Russell is finally at peace.

Russell is survived by his mother, Sherida Allen Kennedy Parkinson; his sisters, Kelly Davis and Marla Kennedy; his brother, Jerrold Max Kennedy (Brooke); his nieces, Adrian Louise Davis and Peyton Sherida Kennedy; and his nephew, Jesse Clint Davis.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Crystal Heights Second Ward Chapel, 1970 East Stratford Avenue (2560 South), Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held prior to the services from 10:0011:30 a.m.
Graveside services will be held at 4:00 p.m. the same day in the Delta City Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
