Her Story
I have finished my work
Now I'm taking my rest

Charlotte Matthews was born on May 23, 1925 to the parentage of Edward and Charlotte Matthews. She was the second of five children. She accepted Christ at an early age and loved the Lord dearly.
Charlotte spent her early childhood years in Montgomery, AL. where she attended public school.
On August 23, 1947 she was joined in Holy Matrimony to Shedreck Newton. To this union four children were born.
Charlotte was a sweet and quiet person. She enjoyed gospel singing and sang in the church choir.
See enjoyed her church family as well as spending time with her biological family.
Charlotte departed this earthly life on September 23, 2014. She was preceded in death by her father, mother and two siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory her daughters, Shirley Pickard, Faye Simien (Shawn), Jackie Lewis (Wardell) and son, George Newton (Alice), sister, Eddie Gregoire, brother, Edward Matthews, Jr., grandsons, Terrence Pickard, Shawn Simien and Shannon Pickard (Courtney), granddaughter, Christon Stewart, grandsons, Jeremiah and Deandre Pickard, great grandson, Deandre Gregoire and niece, Glenda Hill and a host of relatives,, play children, friends and acquaintances
