Rosemary James Nye, age 94, passed away on August 16, 2014. She was born in Noblesville, Indiana to Willis S. and Edna M. Anderson on August 10, 1920. Her first job was as a flight attendant for Eastern Airlines. She moved to Houston in 1952 where she became a teacher & counselor in the Spring Branch Independent School District for 25 years.
She was a member of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, a graduate of Purdue University, and earned her Masters at the University of Houston. Rosemary was also a member of Alpha Chi Omega Sorority, Lady Washington Chapter of D.A.R., & Spring Branch Lions Club.
She is survived by her brother, Willis H. Anderson (wife: Ruth Ann), of Lapel, IN; ne[hews, James S. Anderson & Dr. Robert W. Anderson (wife: Monica); two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Charles Leslie James, second husband, Edward Fountain Nye, both formally of Houston, and niece, Dr. Lee Ann Anderson.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home. Interment will be in Garnett, Kansas.
